Full biography
Lara's passion for performing began at age 10 when she starred as the young Jane Austen for BBC1 and as Darwin's Daughter in the series of the same name for Channel Four. As a student at Sylvia Young's Theatre School, Lara went on to win a scholarship in music and drama at Millfield School. It was there that Lara's musical journey really began—she earned a spot in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain before securing a scholarship at the Royal Northern College of Music. During her classical and opera singing studies, Lara became a member of Genesis Sixteen, the elite training choir for the internationally acclaimed choral group The Sixteen, conducted by Harry Christophers. She soon found herself touring with Gareth Malone, the nation's favourite choirmaster, releasing two chart-topping albums with Decca, and appearing on The One Show, This Morning, and Children in Need Rocks. Towards the end of her studies, Lara appeared as a soloist for three performances at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Marines Massed Bands. She was also a finalist in the Frederic Cox Award and The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss. Other highlights of Lara's career include singing as a soloist at St Paul's Cathedral, Notre Dame, Westminster Abbey, Duomo di Milano, Alnwick Castle, Claridge's, The Savoy, The Bridgewater Hall, and recording two albums conducted and composed by John Rutter. One of her most recent notable performances took place in front of 10,000 people at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, where she sang at the featherweight boxing world championship. Lara has sung with many opera companies, most notably Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Opera Holland Park, Wexford Festival Opera and Longborough Festival Opera. She has also been featured as one of Country Life magazine's 'Girls in Pearls'. In addition to her performance career Lara is a soloist for Lost Chord, a charity that brings professional musicians into care homes to give interactive concerts to people with dementia.

However, for outdoor events or large, acoustically challenging spaces, I will use one to ensure the sound reaches everyone. If I’m not accompanied by a live musician, I also use a speaker for backing tracks. I always adjust the sound to suit the atmosphere and create the perfect ambiance for your special day.
